THE BROOKLYN TOWER

BROOKLYN ABOVE ALL

Brooklyn above all. Once in a generation, a building comes along that changes our perspective. A building that creates bold new horizons, promises new beginnings, and sets standards that others can only hope to follow. Rarer still is the opportunity to call this building home. This is The Brooklyn Tower. Here heritage and modernity meet, the historic Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn beautifully incorporated into a truly imaginative new residential tower in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn. Rising more than one thousand feet into the city skyline, The Brooklyn Tower is home to remarkable new residences for sale and lease with exceptional interiors and amenities, and breathtaking views over Brooklyn, Manhattan, The Harbor, and East River.

HERITAGE MEETS MODERNITY

The historic Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn is beautifully incorporated into a truly imaginative new residential tower in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn. Rising more than one thousand feet into the city skyline, The Brooklyn Tower is home to remarkable new residences for sale and lease with exceptional interiors and amenities, and breathtaking views over Brooklyn, Manhattan, The Harbor, and East River.

At over 1,000-feet high, The Brooklyn Tower takes the crown as Brooklyn’s tallest. The Tower combines historic preservation with urban innovation and houses approximately 150 residences for purchase and 400 residences for lease, a robust suite of amenities, and world-class retail at its base. The result: a tower that goes further to take part in the inclusive, innovative, and creative story that has always defined the Borough of Brooklyn.

DESIGN

AN ICON RISES

Rising from vibrant Downtown Brooklyn, The Brooklyn Tower forms an eloquent, expressive dialogue between past and future. With its cascading setbacks and fluted facade, it takes inspiration from the beautiful Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn, lifting that historic building’s hexagonal form to pierce the sky in dazzling new ways.

This is a new icon for Brooklyn, its confident design and monumental scale reflecting the dynamic spirit of the borough. Designed by the award-winning SHoP Architects, and developed by JDS Development Group, the Tower is a multi-faceted building, rich in materiality. Its shimmering bronzes, marble whites, and deep blacks are once dramatic and extravagantly playful.

NATIVE GEOMETRIC FORMS

Given its sheer scale, the attention to detail here is breathtaking. The hexagonal footprint of the original Bank building, created around Brooklyn’s native geometrical grid, informs the Tower in a series of interlocking hexagonal plates. The abstract fluting of the Tower, in cylindrical, quarter-round and triangular forms, presents beguiling, fresh aspects of the building when viewed from different vantage points. The setbacks, delightfully echoing the storied skyscraping and cloudbusting buildings across the river, tie the Tower in both time and space: this is a building that stands for Brooklyn, now and in the centuries to come.

ARRIVAL AND LOBBY

Just off Albee Square and through a portion of the gracious former bank building, can be found the residential Fleet Street lobby, featuring: a 35’ ceiling, custom decorative light fixtures, white marble wall cladding, and tri-stone flooring in trapezoid patterns.

  • Dual Fleet Street and Flatbush Avenue Extension entrances
  • 24-hour lobby attendant
  • In-house coffee stand
  • Rideshare lounge

A TIMELESS ELEGANCE

The intimate arrival from tree-lined Fleet Street is heightened by the drama of walking through the Ionic colonnade of the original Bank building, with its double- height atrium and marble facade. White oak, cut into a rift pattern, and cream and white stone hexagon floors are a delightful homage to history. With a 24-hour lobby attendant, a rideshare lounge, package valet, and an in-house coffee stand, this is an arrival experience that is as practical as it is beautiful.

EXCEED EXPECTATIONS

Warm wood millwork and bronzed mirrored surfaces provide an immediate sense of tranquility the moment residents step through the threshold. Krista Ninivaggi, of Woods Bagot, and SHoP Architects have designed two distinctive entrance lobbies, one from Fleet Street, the other off Flatbush Avenue Extension, which capture the timeless elegance of the landmark with a modern sensibility, and creates an arrival experience that lingers long in the memory.
